Kayaking
is a unique way to experience movement on water and to view
environments from a new perspective. Moving on water can be a
tranquil experience and kayaking is a basic form of movement that can
be learnt easily and safely over a short period of time.
The North
Devon area is rich in waterways. There are many ideal locations
for young people to get to grips with boating, but safety is our number
one priority, fitting a suitable location to the ability
standard. Opportunities to develop kayaking could lead towards
surf boating or a coastal paddle into the open sea.
Regardless
of location, kayaking is a fun activity that young people enjoy.
They have the opportunity to learn new skills, work together as a team
and ultimately to get themselves and others wet!
