Moorland Rambler

Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are vast natural facilities easily accessible to all.

The use of both of these extensive moorland environments is limited by schools due to ever tightening legislation over off-site excursions to 'wilderness areas'.

A qualified Mountain Leader will guide the 'Moorland Rambler' day.  This will take the shape of an extended educational walk, drawing in local geology, history, flora and fauna and much more.  The distance of the walks can range from 4 - 15 miles according to ability.

Letterbox Orienteering is an added attraction many groups choose when walking on Dartmoor, whilst groups operating on Exmoor have requested first aid/survival scenarios to be included into their day's itinerary.  The focus of the day is your choice.

Planning the Journey

The planning and organisation of the 'Moorland Rambler Day' is very much down to the class in question.  Maps and CD Rom Models are available to allow classroom teachers to plan this off site trip easily at school.
