Self Esteem building

Low self confidence is a common stumbling block to the fulfilment of success for a number of young people.   The school environment is restricted in support available as the main focus is on curricular attainment.

All young people should be entitled to a positive school experience.  For many, the lack of inter/intra personal confidence through communication can often restrict the ability to socialise, attain well in lessons and branch out into the social environment outside of school.

'Self-Esteem Building' looks at building relationships between young people, towards developing the self.   Outdoor activities will form the vehicle for change.

The process of development will incorporate the support of school staff and parents.

Activities Recommended
  • Target group - Parent/child overnight experience.
  • On-site team building tasks.
  • Community based interaction projects.
  • Adventure activities.

The vision is to work with a target group of 5 - 8 young people weekly over the course of term.  This can be in curricular time or after school hours.  Activities will take place both on and off the school premises.
